Starting a new job on a construction site is exciting — but it comes with real responsibilities. Safety, professionalism, and reliability are the three pillars of success in the trades.
What to Bring
- Valid government-issued ID
- WCB coverage confirmation
- Steel-toed safety boots
- Hard hat (often provided by site)
- Hi-visibility vest
Day-One Tips
Arrive 10 minutes early. Introduce yourself to the site supervisor first. Ask where the safety orientation is held — most BC sites require a site-specific induction. Do not enter any area marked off with caution tape without authorization.
Communication Is Key
If you're unsure about a task, ask before doing. It's far better to ask a question than to make an error that causes injury or project delays. Your STAFFCO recruiter is also available to support you through your first week.
